Kristen Darling, Social Worker Trainee
Life is full of uncertainty and change that we cannot always control. It’s a momentous and courageous step to reach out for support.
At Kindred Heart Therapy Group, I offer person-centered therapy that is adaptive to each client’s specific needs and strengths. Using an integrated approach, I tailor therapeutic work to each individual based on their unique circumstances, identities and needs.
As a social worker, I have a strong interest in social justice and believe it’s important to explore oppressive systems and cultural messages in our society that influence our lived experience. I work collaboratively with each person to empower and promote healing and well-being. I work with children, adolescents and adults and have a passion for working with young people, pregnancy and postpartum, parenting, LGBTQIA + and survivors of interpersonal violence and sexual assault. I have a background in trauma informed work with persons who have experienced interpersonal violence and sexual assault as well as extensive experience working with adolescents struggling with depression and anxiety.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and dogs out in nature, seeing live music and searching thrift stores for vintage finds.
Whether you are here for personal growth, to address past trauma or explore challenges with anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns, I seek to hold a safe space that is warm, welcoming and empathetic.
